WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Wichita police arrested a 21-year-old man in connection to a capturing Tuesday afternoon that left an 18-year-old man useless.
Christian Concha was arrested on expenses of first-degree homicide, aggravated baby endangerment, and an excellent warrant for home violence.
Capt. Jason Stephens stated Concha confirmed a firearm to a 9 and 10-year-old at a residence within the 700 block of South Sycamore. The 2 youngsters have been being babysat by Concha’s girlfriend. The couple left the residence leaving the 2 youngsters with 18-year-old Jeremy Retana. Police stated the 9-year-old obtained ahold of the firearm, by accident discharged it and shot Retana within the head, killing him.
Now, Concha, who was not on the residence when the capturing occurred, face prison expenses.
“A nine-year-old baby can’t be held culpable for a prison protection, nonetheless, there’s a statute generally known as felony homicide which could be charged when a person commits an underlying inherently harmful offense and on this case that offense is aggravated baby endangerment by permitting the kids to have entry to this firearm deliberately,” stated Capt. Stephens addressing why Concha was arrested.
The investigation is ongoing and the case will likely be offered to the Sedgwick County District Lawyer’s workplace.
